As a reminder, Saturday, March 2, 2019, is the Rotary Club International Dinner service project. We will be meeting at the loading dock around the back of The Center of Rural Development at 4:30 and will assist until about 9:30 p.m.
Scouts will be helping chiefs set up their stations, work drink stations, keep the trash containers emptied, and clean up after the event. Scouts need to wear full Class A uniform (this includes neckerchiefs) and dress shoes.
As a reminder tomorrow, February 28, 2019 is the Cub Scout Crossover with Pack 170. The Crossover will be at Oak Hill Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. during the Pack’s Blue & Gold Banquet. All scouts and scout leaders are encourage to attend in full Class A uniform, including neckerchief. This is a special time to celebrate a new Patrol for Troop 170.
The Troop activity calendar has been updated through Memorial Day and includes the date for the all-Scout Swim Check – Monday, April 15. Also, please note next Monday (March 4) is when the $50 Summer Camp deposit is due. For details click here.

Just a reminder that our annual Chili Supper Court of Honor will be held Monday, February 18, starting at 6:30 pm. Your entire family is invited to attend. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early with your food.
Once again, all Patrols are asked to bring specific food items (see flyer). Unit adult leaders and Committee members are asked to prepare chili. Be creative.
As a reminder, this Sunday, February 10, 2019 is the Troop’s annual church service with East Somerset Baptist Church. All scouts need to show up in Full Class A uniform, to include pants, shirt, neckerchief and dress shoes. Scouts may also wear their merit badge sash. Scouts need to show up at the church by 10:15am. On Sunday, February 10, Troop 170 will celebrate SCOUT SUNDAY with our Charter Organization, East Somerset Baptist Church, as a way to say thank you for their continued support.
Scouts should meet at 10:15 am in the front of the church, in full uniform with neckerchief. This is for ALL members of your family, regardless of religious denomination or beliefs. Services will conclude at Noon.
This day we will also be participating in the annual SCOUTING FOR FOOD drive, so please bring non-perishable food items. We will donate all food collected that day to a local food bank or non-profit organization.
As a reminder all patrol leaders need to bring supplies to decorate their boxes for the food drive. The supplies don’t need to be fancy, they can be markers, pictures and/or tape.
