Coat Check

As a reminder, tomorrow will be the Troop’s annual coat check at the Center for Rural Development from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A minimum of six scouts are needed and everyone must be in full Class A uniform, including neckerchief.

Klondike photos – Coat check reminder
Two updates:
1. A reminder that this Thursday, January 17, is a SERVICE PROJECT for the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce. Scouts are needed from 5 pm to 7 pm at The Center For Rural Development to assist with welcoming guests and manning the coat check station. Please wear complete Scout uniform with neckerchief and dress shoes.
2. Photos from the Klondike Derby are posted. Troop 170 took first place for marksmanship! Webelos from Pack 170 took first place for orienteering with a score more than double that of any troop. And, we had snow for the Klondike sled race! Click here to view photos.

Committee & Troop meeting update
Due to illness, tonight’s (January 7) Committee Meeting will be rescheduled to Monday, January 14, at 6:15 pm. The Troop will still meet at its regular time.
Remember, all Scouts/Leaders planning on attending this weekend’s (January 11-13) Klondike Derby should bring $10 food money plus the $15 event fee. These will be collected separately – food money will be paid to your Patrol Leader and event fee will be paid to Senior Patrol Leader.

Did you know that in 2018 Boy Scout Troop 170:
- Provided more than 384 hours of community service;
- Camped out 21 nights;
- Hiked/backpacked for 11.5 miles;
- Canoed/kayaked 9.7 miles; and
- Celebrated its 54th Eagle Scout

Klondike Derby
Monday, January 7, 2018, the Troop will be preparing for the Klondike Derby. All scouts wishing to participate need to bring $10 to the Monday meeting. All scouts who want to participate but will not be at the Monday meeting, please contact your Patrol Leader that you intend to participate.
