As a reminder, TONIGHT will be the first night, and the best night, to sign up for any merit badge classes for summer camp. The classes fill up fast so pick your classes early.

Also, all scouts that are 14, or who will turn 14 by the end of this year, Mrs. Weatherly needs to talk to you and your parents about doing the Snow Sports Merit Badge on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Please meet right after scouts in the gym at East Somerset Baptist Church.

Lots of activities in January-February

The calendar for January and February 2020 is now updated on the website (Click here to view.)

This week we have the Chamber of Commerce Coat Check service project (Thursday, 5 pm to 7 pm) and Mill Springs Memorial service project (Saturday, 1 pm to 2:30 pm). This month we will also be discussing what classes you hope to take at summer camp. First payment will be due February 3.

Mill Springs Campout Reminder

Just a simple reminder for this weekend’s campout to bring the following items along with your usual gear, Full Class A with Neckerchief, a cup that can hold hot liquids, and WARM gear to keep you warm for the weekend.

PLC Meeting

As a reminder, this Monday is the troop’s monthly PLC meeting. All Patrol Leaders need to show up at 6:15 p.m. Items we will be discussing include: 1) selecting where we will be hiking Saturday, Dec. 14; 2) finalizing plans for the Mill Springs Reenactment campout Nov. 1-3; and, 3) discussing plans for the Nov. 18 Court of Honor.

Monday October 7th

As a friendly reminder there is NO scout meeting this Monday October 7th, 2019 due to Fall Break. We hope everyone will have a good and safe break.

August Court of Honor

As a friendly reminder, this Monday, August 19, 2019 is the August Court of Honor and Cookout at 6:30pm at East Somerset Baptist Church.  All scouts need to bring side dishes and desserts.  See the link below or the Troop website for the information sheet to know what to bring.  All scouts need to wear their full Class A uniform (No popcorn reward t-shirt) to include neckerchief and merit badge sash.  All patrols need to have a skit or a song ready.  Family and friends are invited to attend.  Scouts need to arrive by 6:15.

Canoe availability info requested

Anyone who can provide a canoe for Monday night’s (August 12) practice session at Fishing Creek Recreation Area, please contact Michael Loiacono at 392-3431 or mjloiacono@yahoo.com as soon as possible. If you have your own lifejacket you are encouraged to bring it along. A reminder, the session will begin at 6:30 pm and replaces the regular Troop meeting.
