Steak & swim check reminders

A steak and baked potato dinner will be provided at 1:30 pm this Sunday, May 20, for all those meeting the troop popcorn sales goal. If you received the popcorn sales T-shirt, you are eligible to eat. We must know – Yes or No – if you plan to attend by Friday afternoon. Call or email Mr. Bullock or Mr. Morton ASAP.

Troop swim checks will be held Tuesday, May 22, in Russell Springs. We will meet at East Somerset Baptist at 6 pm, carpool to the swimming pool, and be back at church about 8:30 pm. We may still need drivers. For those attending summer camp, it is better to take your swim test in a pool than in a lake. All scouts need to take the test for rank, and you are welcome to attend even if you aren’t going to summer camp.

Please complete personal information PRIOR to physical exam AND provide a copy of the front and back of your insurance card. Troop physicals are provided without cost. If you are unable to attend, it is your responsibility to obtain a physical from your family physician.

2. A STEAK DINNER will be provided on Sunday, May 20 for all boys who met their Troop popcorn sales goal this year. (If you received a Troop Class B T-shirt you are eligible). Everything will be provided. Please RSVP your availability to attend ASAP to either SM Dale Morton or ASM Jeff Bullock.

3. Troop SWIM CHECKS will be provided on Tuesday, May 22 in Russell Springs. We will leave from East Somerset Baptist Church at 6 pm and carpool to Russell Springs where the swim tests will be administered by BSA-certified Lifeguard (and Troop 170 Eagle Scout) Adam Hoehler. Everyone going to summer camp and/or wishing to participate in any aquatics activity during the next year must have a current swim check. Once your checks are complete you will have free-swim time until we return to Somerset.

4. A SUMMER CAMP PARENT/GUARDIAN and SCOUT meeting will be held on Monday, June 4 starting about 7 p.m. At least one parent/Guardian and their Scouts attending summer camp will meet to discuss details of what to bring, final schedules (there were some changes), departure time, Sunday lunch, take care of any final fee payments, and answer questions. Scouts should wear complete Class A uniform so that we can ensure you have everything correct. Scouts will not have to attend the entire presentation and will join rest of troop for an activity.
