On Monday, April 22, the Troop will be attending the Somerset City Council meeting instead of our regular meeting. Please be at the Somerset City Hall/Energy Center, 306 East Mt. Vernon Street, by 6:45 pm in full uniform (includes neckerchief).

The Council meeting begins at 7:00 pm, so we want to be seated in advance. The Council Chambers are located immediately inside the front entrance.

This meeting is important because it will allow Scouts to complete Communication Merit Badge Requirement 5 and Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge Requirements 3a & 3b. Both of these merit badges are required for Eagle Scout Rank. You will need to bring paper and a pencil/pen to take notes on what is discussed.

As a reminder, Saturday, March 2, 2019, is the Rotary Club International Dinner service project. We will be meeting at the loading dock around the back of The Center of Rural Development at 4:30 and will assist until about 9:30 p.m.

Scouts will be helping chiefs set up their stations, work drink stations, keep the trash containers emptied, and clean up after the event. Scouts need to wear full Class A uniform (this includes neckerchiefs) and dress shoes.

As a reminder tomorrow, February 28, 2019 is the Cub Scout Crossover with Pack 170. The Crossover will be at Oak Hill Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. during the Pack’s Blue & Gold Banquet. All scouts and scout leaders are encourage to attend in full Class A uniform, including neckerchief. This is a special time to celebrate a new Patrol for Troop 170.

As a reminder this Thursday, February 28, 2019 is the Cub Scout Crossover with Pack 170. The crossover will be at Oak Hill Elementary school at 6:30 p.m. All scouts and scout leaders are encourage to show up. All scouts and scout leaders need to show up in Full Class A uniform, including neckerchief.

As a reminder, this Sunday, February 10, 2019 is the Troop’s annual church service with East Somerset Baptist Church.  All scouts need to show up in Full Class A uniform, to include pants, shirt, neckerchief and dress shoes.  Scouts may also wear their merit badge sash.  Scouts need to show up at the church by 10:15am.  We will meet at the front of the church.  If you have any questions please contact Mr. Renner.

As a reminder all patrol leaders need to bring supplies to decorate their boxes for the food drive. The supplies don’t need to be fancy,  they can be markers, pictures and/or tape.

As a reminder, there is a Patrol Meeting tonight at 6:15pm at East Somerset Baptist Church.  All outgoing and incoming leaders need to attend.

As a reminder, tomorrow will be the Troop’s annual coat check at the Center for Rural Development from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.  A minimum of six scouts are needed and everyone must be in full Class A uniform, including neckerchief.
