Due to illness, tonight’s (January 7) Committee Meeting will be rescheduled to Monday, January 14, at 6:15 pm. The Troop will still meet at its regular time.
Remember, all Scouts/Leaders planning on attending this weekend’s (January 11-13) Klondike Derby should bring $10 food money plus the $15 event fee. These will be collected separately – food money will be paid to your Patrol Leader and event fee will be paid to Senior Patrol Leader.

Congratulations to Jack W., the 54th Eagle Scout from Troop 170! Jack passed his District Eagle Scout Board of Review September 11. Pictured from left with Jack are members of the Board – Bill McIver, Forrest Spillman, and Chance Bullock.
The Troop meeting on Monday, August 13, will be held AT FISHING CREEK BOAT RAMP. Wear your swim suit and Scout T-shirt as we will be have paddling practice. Please plan to arrive no later than 7 pm. This is for EVERYONE, not just those going on the canoe/kayak trip, as we will be going over three 1st Class requirements. (See calendar listing for details.) If you are going on the outing, your $10 food money will be collected. In case of bad weather, meeting will be held at East Somerset Baptist.

Our annual canoe/kayak trip will be held August 24-26 on the Green River. We will be camping at the American Legion Park in Greensburg. Please follow the link below to indicate whether you and/or your Scout will be joining us! (This survey takes less than a minute to complete!)
NOTE: If you plan to attend we must know by the Monday, August 6, Troop meeting. Food money ($10) will be due on Monday, August 13.
Just a reminder that there is NO Troop activity this weekend and NO Troop meeting on Monday, July 23. Next on the agenda is the Patrol Leaders Council meeting for the three new Patrol Leaders and both current and incoming SPLs and ASPLs at 6:15 pm on Monday, July 30. The regular meeting that night is a special evening of “The Scouting Games” featuring fun activities utilizing basic Scouting Skills that has been planned by your Senior Patrol Leader.
Be watching for information about canoe/kayak trip (August 24-26) preparations and opportunity for conservation service project hours with a bridge replacement project in the Big South Fork on Saturday, August 4.
Finally, MARK YOUR CALENDARS – next year’s summer camp will be held June 24-30, 2019. We will be returning to Camp McKee Scout Reservation.
