Boy Scout Troop 170 is chartered to East Somerset Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky.
Troop meetings are held most Monday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the church gym, 345 Pumphouse Road, Somerset, KY 42503. The troop DOES NOT meet during the weeks of Spring Break or Fall Break, on Memorial Day or Labor Day, or the last two Mondays in December.
Meetings ARE held even when school is called off due to weather unless otherwise noted. See our Troop Calendar for details about meetings and activities.
As of Feb,14th 2025, the troop has 24 registered Scouts and 11 registered Adults. Our unit was certified as a “Journey To Excellence” Gold Level Unit , meaning the troop meets quality performance standards measuring planning and budget, membership (recruiting and retention), program (camping, service, advancement and utilizing the “Patrol Method”), and volunteer leadership (family engagement and trained leaders).
