There are lots of rank advancements and merit badges to present, as well as a discussion about this year’s popcorn fundraiser and upcoming activities.

to download a flyer.
Note: Cook-out begins at 6:30 pm!

- Eagle Patrol – Chips
- Frontiersman Patrol – Macaroni, pasta or other salad
- Cobra Patrol – Desserts
- Bobcat Patrol – Vegetable dish (hot or cold)

The Eclipse Update
As a reminder, the Troop will be viewing the eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017 at East Somerset Baptist Church in the north parking lot starting at 12:30pm and lasting until approximately 4:00pm. The proper glasses will be available. Since this is a long event, remember to bring a chair and something to drink. Parents are requested to remain at the church with their children, except those scouts who will drive themselves.
Please try to let Mr. Martin know if you plan to attend.
The Eclipse
With the solar eclipse happening, the Troop is planning to watch the eclipse and earn a patch specific to this eclipse. We will meet at East Somerset Baptist, Monday, August, 21, 2017 at 12:30pm and last until the event is finished. The proper protective glasses will be provided for the scouts. If you are planning to attend this event please notify Mr. Martin.
Canoe Trip Update
The annual canoe and kayak trip will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27. For the first time in many years, we will be paddling right here in Pulaski County! We will paddle Buck Creek on Saturday and camp at a site along the creek graciously provided by Troop 79. Exact departure time on Saturday morning will be announced later.
By TOMORROW, Monday, August 14, we need a count of who will be coming on the trip. The boys should let their patrol leaders know their intention, but if you are not attending the meeting on Monday, please email Mike Loiacono at mjloiacono@yahoo.com as he is coordinating the trip.
Every boy will wear a life jacket on the water, regardless of age or skill. Only boys who have passed the BSA swim test will be allowed to paddle solo in a kayak. Also, if you have a canoe, kayak, or paddles that you are willing to bring, please let Mike Loiacono know.
In summary, by Monday we need to know
1. If your Scout will be coming on the trip.
2. If you need a life jacket.
3. If you have a canoe, kayak, or paddles that the Troop can use.
Service Project request
